Gujarat Maritime Cluster hosts successful conference on shipping finance at GIFT IFSC
Gujarat Maritime Cluster (GMC) hosted its first conference on promoting shipping finance from GIFT IFSC on Tuesday, April 11th. The event, held at GMC’s GIFT City office in Gandhinagar, was well attended by participants from large banks, insurance companies, consultancy firms, law firms, chartered accountants, GIFT authority, and stakeholders from shipping companies.
The conference focused on exploring the opportunities and challenges in shipping finance and discussed the role of GMC in promoting this sector. Participants shared insights on the current state of shipping finance, discussed the potential for growth and innovation in the sector, and identified key areas for collaboration and cooperation including credit risk funding, mortgage interest insurance, and pooling of experts.

The conference also featured a keynote address by Mr. Madhvendra Singh, CEO of GMC. In his address, Mr. Singh highlighted the importance of the shipping industry in driving economic growth and development in India, and stressed the need for collaboration and innovation in the sector.
